Scherzo for Strings and Strats

In classical music, scherzo means "joke" or a musical piece of light and playful character. I took this as an inspiration to compose a short string quartet that could be done with the traditional string quartet, or a quartet of electric guitars. I used a couple of software music programs to accomplish this task: Presonus Notion I used to write out the score and also to emulate the strings parts - it has nice built-in orchestral sounds.
For the actual recording and mixing of live instruments, I used Cakewalk Sonar X3 - my go-to home studio software that I've been using (including previous versions) for years.
So with out further fanfare, here are the versions and the score.  All items copyright 2015 Karl Archuleta.
